Historias de orgullo
About

Taking as a venue a parking lot along Reforma, one of the main avenues in Mexico City, we decided to activate a space that could be temporarily inhabited in the public thoroughfare. As we brought together multiple individuals in resistance to share their stories.

Thus, hand in hand with Trevor Project Mexico, "Historias de Orgullo" (Pride Stories) was born, a space where we share stories of resistance, subversion, and expression, a safe haven for the LGBTQ+ community. The carefully curated series of activities included:

"Historias de Resistencia" where our speakers shared their narratives as dissenting identities.

"El Muro de la Subversión" where attendees could share messages, drawings, or artistic interventions.

"Con mi historia hago versos" an open mic session for the public to participate.

"Reproducción de Nuestras 5 Historias de Orgullo" where each profile emphasized the importance of building safe spaces.

"Taller de Expresión Corporal" where we made it clear that words are not the only means of communication; a panel on sexuality, recognizing its significance in the history of dissenting voices.

"Sesiones Acústicas" where artists gave voice to those who listened to their music.

This immersive experience aimed to empower, celebrate, and support the LGBTQ+ community, creating a powerful platform for self-expression, resilience, and unity.
